Scott was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and grew up in a family of six. His family lived in an area with just enough land to have horses, dogs, cats, goats, roosters and an assortment of other animals. He has wonderful memories of his childhood days and times with his very close nit family.
After graduating from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, he aquired employment as a federal agent with the Postal Inspection Service. Scott and his external mail theft team made over 600 arrests for various postal violatons, including, homicides of postal employees, theft of mail, mail fraud, and burglary.
In 1979 he was promoted to the position of Western Regional Polygraph Examiner and moved to the San Francisco bay area. After a 5 year stint in polygraph Scott became the team leader of internal financial investigations and workers compensation fraud. He retired from the government job after 30 years of service.
At 53, with a fairly new family he decided to do something he's always wanted to do. Scott obtained a real estate licence in 2000 and joined Coldwell Banker in Danville whrere he started all over again. Coldwell Banker had an excellent training program with a lot of successful realtors from which to learn
