Scott is the owner and manager of Barry Realty. He has been selling homes in Contra Costa and Alameda Counties for 10 years. He specializes in sales of existing or new construction single family and multi-family residential properties, as well as vacant land purchases. He represents both Buyersand Sellers, and can also act as a Dual Agent, representing both a Buyer and a Seller in the same transaction.
Scott was raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in a family of six. He lived on a property with just enough land to have horses, dogs, cats, goats, roosters and an assortment of other animals. It was a great experience to be raised in such a special environment. The house was located what he called "plumb and nearly". Plumb out of town and nearly into it. He has wonderful memories of his childhood days, and times with his family.

After graduating from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, he became employed with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, a Federal Law Enforcement agency in Los Angeles. He investigated an assortment of mail crimes, i.e.: mail theft, robberies burglaries of post offices, mail fraud, homicides of postal personnel and so on. As an inspector, he made arrests, served subpoenas and search warrants, and located suspects and witnesses. In 1979 he was promoted to the position of Polygraph Examiner in the San Francisco bay area. He purchased a home in Walnut Creek, fell in love with the area and stayed.
Following his 30 year law enforcement career, he decided he would do something he loved to do. Real estate fit the bill.
He began his real estate career in February 2000 at Coldwell Banker in Danville. After receiving the best real estate training available, he obtained his brokers license and launched his own business, Barry Realty, in June of 2001.
